Community & Operations Manager
Brooklyn, NY | Full-Time | In-Person
Work Heights is a seven-location neighborhood coworking network in Brooklyn. Each of our spaces has its own character, and our members are freelancers, small business owners, remote workers, and creatives who value community and a great work environment. We're passionate about our members and the communities we've built in each neighborhood.
We're hiring a Community & Operations Manager to be the operational backbone of our network and the primary point of contact for our 300+ members. This is a hands-on, in-person role where you'll cycle through our seven Brooklyn locations throughout the week, building real relationships with members, keeping spaces running smoothly, and driving retention and revenue growth.
You'll work directly with the founder, manage a small cleaning team, and be the person our members know and trust.
What You'll Do
Own all member communications and support, responding to inquiries promptly and resolving issues with professionalism and empathy. Process membership changes and treat every cancellation conversation as a retention opportunity. Monitor churn risk and execute proactive outreach to save at-risk members and identify upsell opportunities using our proprietary internal tools. Manage supply ordering, cleaning team scheduling, and facility issue coordination across all seven locations. Maintain relationships with local business partners. Plan and host weekly member events that build community and give people a reason to look forward to coming in. Write marketing emails and a monthly newsletter, drawing on your firsthand knowledge of the member community.
What We're Looking For
2+ years of experience in coworking community management, customer success, or a similar member-facing role. Genuinely great with people. You remember names, pick up on when something's off, and know how to make someone feel welcome. A growth mindset. You're always looking for ways to improve systems, reduce friction, and make the member experience better. A creative systems thinker who can see patterns across seven locations and build repeatable processes without losing the human touch. Detail-oriented and organized enough to manage seven locations, a cleaning team, vendor relationships, and a support inbox without things falling through the cracks. Comfortable with technology and eager to learn new tools. We build proprietary software in-house and use AI across our operations. You don't need to be technical, but you need to be curious and adaptable. Willing to be mobile around Brooklyn. You'll be on-site at different locations throughout the week. Passionate about being at the center of a 300+ member community and making it better every day.
Compensation & Benefits
$75,000 to $80,000 base salary plus a retention commission structure and monthly performance bonuses tied to saves, upsells, and churn reduction. On-target earnings of $88,000 to $94,000. Complimentary Flex Membership at Work Heights. Company MacBook Air.
About Working Here
We are a small, tight team where every person has a direct impact on the business. You'll have real ownership, real autonomy, and a founder who's in the weeds with you. If you care about people, take ownership of problems, and want to be part of something real, we want to hear from you.
